Birthday results
Oct. 11th, 2020 06:19 pmaka the entry meant for today.
My birthday was quiet, as expected in these days... a bit more quiet than I thought it would be, but I guess I must realize that other people (the ones who have to work) are snowed in over their heads. Ah, well.
In any case, I got eight lovely phone calls (two from Mum's friends, but they still count, right?), two e-mails and two text messages.
As for birthday gifts, I got lovely, lovely reviews for my stories from
elwenlj,
jenn_calaelen,
adafrog and
sandysan2013! Yay! Thank you, folks, you've really made my day!
I also got paid LJ time from
elmey and
lindahoyland, and also a very cute birthday e-card from the most generous
lindahoyland. And a small bottle of black currant flavoured vodka from my friend Alex, which I'll get on Tuesday, when I go to school to fetch the eggsies.
A mysterious birthday gift from
the_wild_iris is currently waiting at the post office, as they ceased to deliver anything that can't be stuffed into the letter box a couple of years ago. So yeah, I'll have to take the tram to the post office, which is always crowded like whoa, stand in the queue and wait until they find my package. So much about social distancing. *sigh*
Mum gave me the baking tin for mini bunt cakes in advance, but she was unhappy with the fact that she couldn't give me anything now and pressured me to find myself something when I was doing the shopping on the 9th. So I bought a DIY box set that is pretty, but I wouldn't have bought it otherwise, as I didn't strictly need it.
It looks like this while still unopened (well, almost, as I got the pink version):

And this is what you can make from it:

In theory anyway. I might use the individual parts differently. But it is very pretty.
So, this was my birthday in 2020. I'll update this entry when I've fetched my package. Friends-locked, because it is no-one's business, except you who are on my friendslist.
