I was very effective today baking-verse, despite the fact that I started after noontime, since Mum and I made our weekly trip to the corner café first. Fortunately, I'm usually well-prepared, and so was it today. I did all the measuring, the mixing of dry ingredients, etc, yesterday evening, laid out the necessary utensils and all that, so I could start right away.

Which means that I'm almost done. I've baked everything - and St. Honoré was looking down at me graciously, since everything turned out fairly well - all that's left to do is to fill the flower-shaped biscuits with jam. I decided to leave that for tomorrow, after I've done the grocery shopping. I might even make some savoury scones for ourselves; after all that sweet stuff it would be nice. But I'll skip that if I feel too tired tomorrow.

Not much else happened. It was well beyond 3pm when I finished baking, and for a while all I could do was vegetating in front of the telly. But having succeeded gave me a lot of energy, so I'm looking forward completing the task tomorrow.

I'm glad to hear that your baking went well and that you and your mum were able to visit your café. I'm still at home on oxygen, but I'm feeling better. The sitter has been a lifesaver! Unfortunately, I won't be able to keep her much longer, as the service is quite expensive. But until that day, my "support cat" and I have been enjoying our rest and beauty sleep. Take care, hope your weather improves.

I'm sorry to hear that you are still not well; hopefully, you can get rid of the oxygen tubes sooner rather than later. At least you do have some help for the time being; too bad it's so expensive. You'd deserve a bit more rest. *hugs*

I love productive days like that. Cheese scones are my favourite kind and I would happily give up sweet ones.

TBH I was quite surprised when I learned that there are such things as sweet scones. In our family — and in Hungary generally — scones are spicy.

In England fruit scones are the norm. containing raisins and sultana's. It's not usual to add spices. Hungarian ones sound delicious.

I usually find baking very relaxing — unless I work on a tight schedule. This one happened at a comfortable speed, so I enjoyed it very much.
