A short Epilogue has been posted to [livejournal.com profile] otherworlds_lib.

Next up in the programme: "Eye Witness", a pre-series Tosh romance, set in the "Travellers' Tales" universe and therefore blessedly Gwen-free. I'll start posting it next week.

Enjoy!

We've reached half-time. Chapter 06 - Out of the Past has just been posted to [livejournal.com profile] otherworlds_lib, and we can celebrate the return of Gwennie-poo... if that's reason for celebration, I mean.

Anyway, it's up, and if you're interested, you're welcome to read it. ;))

Saw a few pictures about John Barrowman's guest role in "Desperate Housewives", and I must admit that I like the new look. The different hairdo matches his actual age a lot better - he does seem aged quite a bit, but it's not a bad look on him. His face has lost that plastic-like quality... perhaps he's *not* allowed to use Botox while filming the series? Whoever forbade it him, it was a good idea.

Saw "Voyage of the Damned" and thus got introduced to the now-infamed Midshipman Alonzo - also known as Jack's new piece of ass, pimped by the Doctor himself. Wow, RTD must really hate both Jack (to force him to "forget" Ianto for this guy) and Ianto (to be replaced by someone like that). The character wasn't all that bad, actually... the new context is. But again, nothing RTD does to piss off the Ianto fans can surprise me any longer.

Watching "The Aliens of London" has spawned a brand new plotbunny: Tosh as a temporary companion for the Ninth Doctor, while Rose-bloody-Tyler is home, visiting Momma and trying to placate a rightfully angry Mickey. I've already figured out how and why I can get Tosh into the TARDIS, and I also know where the first adventure would get them: feudal Japan, courtesy of Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" series.

Now I'd need a good title (a "catchy" one, as Ianto would say) for the new series. Because "Toshiko Sato, Companion Extraordinaire" would be a but too long and way too unsubtle.

Any title suggestions for Dr. Who, Series 1.5, featuring Tosh as the Ninth Doctor's companion?

The first chapter of Torchwoodgate has been posted to [livejournal.com profile] otherworlds_lib. Just sayin'.

I really, really shouldn't spend my nonexistent time with brand new plotbunnies, especially not while I'm just a short paragraphs from bringing the curent story arc of 'Atlantis Café' to closure, but here you are. I just couldn't resist.

This isn't the whole expedition, of course - not nearly 150 members yet. So, suggestions are welcome.

So, this is the rough draft. Additions, suggestions, comments are welcome. Nothing is set in stone yet - well, very little, in any case. I'd love to discuss every possible affect of such a far-fetched AU.

One of my rare and precious fans on FF.Net (yes, I still do have a few) took it upon himself to recommend my stories on the spacebattles.com website. I think he came to me through Still Not in Kansas, but apparently, now he reads just about everything I post, even if he mostly comments on sci-fi stuff. He's even recced An Autumn Fair in Halabor when someone on that forum asked for good LOTR fic recs.

Now, the funny part is that he seems to believe that I'm a guy. He keeps referring to me as "he". I don't know whether it is because he expects female writers to produce bad slash and/or sappy romances complete with Mary Sues, or because the Spacebattles members are overwhelmingly male, but it's funny nonetheless. I wonder if I should leave him his illusions? ;))

Speaking of recs, here's a bit of self-promotion: I've posted the new chapter of "Out of Legends" to [livejournal.com profile] otherworlds_lib. An update on FF.Net will follow as soon as my beta gets his capable hands on it.

Nothing new work-wise yet.

This is just a snippet that will one day become part of the first chapter of "Alternate Resolutions", a late episode of my "Alternate Voyager" series. It just popped up in my head one day and I got up in the middle of the night to write it down, because I liked the idea so much.

The premise is that - unlike in the canon Voyager episode - Chakotay isn't stranded on New Earth with Janeway, but with Ensign Wildman (the blonde exobiologist woman who gave life to a baby not much earlier). I also established the fact that this baby wasn't Naomi (who looked way older than her supposed age) but a boy. Naomi was already four year old at th beginning of the series and stowed away with her Mum when Voyager had to leave DS9 in pursuit of the Maquis.

In this AU, Maquis and Starfleet aren't all buddy-buddy like in canon. You'll see hints of that in these snippets. K'tarians first appeared in the TNG-episode "The Game", where Riker, once again, almost managed to bring the ship down because he couldn't keep it in his trousers. The K'tarian woman he had a romp with was called Etana Jol and really looked like a lioness.

So much about background trivia, now enjoy.

So, why do people fail regulary to notice the big, fat AU warning on my stories? Are they really stupid or do they ignore the warning willingly, so that they'd have something to bitch about later?

Posted two new chapters to my original Trek/original Galactica x-over, The Joy Machine. Another two chapters and a short epilogue, and it's done. Go me!

Of to post them to FF.Net as well - not that anyone but Lisa would read it, but I don't want to leave any potential readers bereft of the pelasure. [/sarcasm]

Title: Trial Without Error
Author: Soledad

Fandom: Stargate: Atlantis
Genre: Court drama
Rating: General, suitable for all.
Series/sequel: might be integrated into my Atlantis AU “Moments of Joy”, eventually. Or not. We’ll see.
Archiving: my website and Otherworlds. Everyone else: ask, please.

Summary: The PTB let Sheppard and Bates get away with disobeying the direct orders of a civilian leader they were supposed to answer to. Now, I believe that in order to keep up the stability of such an international and multicultural colony, that shouldn’t have happen. So, here is the correction.
