Well, [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris has just sent me Series IV and V, as part of the spoilage programme. *hugs [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris*

Spoilers and bouts post-pubescent shallowness behind the tag. You've been warned! ;))

So, first and foremost: school's out in two weeks. *squeals*
Okay, next week will be hell, but after that things are gonna calm down, and we finish term on June 16. *is insanely happy*

Yes, as you probably can guess, I got completely brainwashed by "Red Dwarf". But there are worse things, I guess. And - Pentecost be blessed - we're looking forward to a loooong weekend. Three days without school! Heh! Am dragging Mum to the new Star Trek movie tomorrow or the day after.

...after having watched three seasons of Red Dwarf:

No sentence ever spoken on this planet could possibly come even close to the hilarity of Lister's statement:

"You are a smeghead, Rimmer!"

The way Craig Charles delivers this sentence makes me howl with laughter ever single time. It's simply indescribable.

I'm watching Season 3 now... and I have to admit that I don't like it very much. The bigger budget might be a cool thing for he producers, but I preferred the old, trashy sets and clothes. They were a lot funnier and seemed more... matching for Lister, somehow. The Cat's garderobe used to be a lot more hilarious, too.

Also, my sympathies switched from Lister to Rimmer, although I never thought that would ever happen. But the part where Lister destroyed Rimmer's family trunk, so that he could save his guitar, although it was for his own miserable life (Rimmer being already dead and suff), destroyed the character for me.

Yeah, I'm weird, I know. But I can't help it. I'll go through the third series (I wanna see the polymorph), but rewatching? Only Series 1 and 2.

[livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris, what do you think about Season 3?

Finished the second series of Red Dwarf, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris. Still laughing my head off. The subtitles are really useful, though - only so am I able to truly enjoy Lister's funny accent. The actor who plays Rimmer is terrific - his facial expresions alonecoould have me in complete hysterics in no time. I particularly enjoyed the parallel universe/mpreg episode, but me being me that's probably not so surprising.

As for Torchwood, I was fairly shocked to see that the [livejournal.com profile] tw_transcripts comm has been deleted. And that before I could have found the time to save four of the Season 2 episodes: "Dead Man Walking", "A Day in the Death", "Something Borrowed" and "From Out of the Rain". So, if someone happens to have the transcripts of those episodes, would you please kindly send me a message? I desperately need those transcripts, or I won't be able to complete the "Wishverse".

Edit: The comm is back. Must have been some LJ glitch. I hurriedly saved the remaining transcripts. *g*

Work is being stress-y again, and I've managed to knock out my knee again, during the Great Burning Tram adventure. Will tell you about it when I'm less dead. And about the big mess concerning our choir. Am just not in the right mind to write about more unpleasant things.

Because I really need another few, aside from the dozen or so that I follow more or less regularly, do I? :))

Anyway, the wonderful fact is that [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris, who's a most generous person, sent me "Merlin" and "Red Dwarf" DVDs. Now that I'm looking forward to a long weekend starting with May 1, I'll have a few really long movie nights, and even the chance to enjoy my shiny new Precioussses properly.

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris, you're a true gem!
