Finished the second series of Red Dwarf, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris. Still laughing my head off. The subtitles are really useful, though - only so am I able to truly enjoy Lister's funny accent. The actor who plays Rimmer is terrific - his facial expresions alonecoould have me in complete hysterics in no time. I particularly enjoyed the parallel universe/mpreg episode, but me being me that's probably not so surprising.

As for Torchwood, I was fairly shocked to see that the [livejournal.com profile] tw_transcripts comm has been deleted. And that before I could have found the time to save four of the Season 2 episodes: "Dead Man Walking", "A Day in the Death", "Something Borrowed" and "From Out of the Rain". So, if someone happens to have the transcripts of those episodes, would you please kindly send me a message? I desperately need those transcripts, or I won't be able to complete the "Wishverse".

Edit: The comm is back. Must have been some LJ glitch. I hurriedly saved the remaining transcripts. *g*

Work is being stress-y again, and I've managed to knock out my knee again, during the Great Burning Tram adventure. Will tell you about it when I'm less dead. And about the big mess concerning our choir. Am just not in the right mind to write about more unpleasant things.

I hope your knee is better today?

You know I haven't a clue about the series, but it was great that you enjoyed Red Dwarf so much. Parallel universe/Mpreg - it sounds like fanfic!

Actually, it's gotten worse. :(
And considering that tomorrow I'm gonna spend 2x4 hours on the bus, with a full-day sightseeing programme between the two spells, the perspective isn't a promising one. *sighs*

Red Dwarf is absolutely hilarious. Should you ever come across it, don't miss a single episode!

I still see [livejournal.com profile] tw_transcripts: master list at http://community.livejournal.com/tw_transcripts/16717.html.

Glad you're enjoying Red Dwarf! Chris Barrie is brilliant; he's a professional mimic (as you probably noticed when he imitated the other characters in 'Queeg'), and he really gets to use his talents on the show.

Yeah, it's back, thank God. I contacted one of the mods and she hurriedly un-deleted it; didn't even know it got deleted. Was apparently a LJ glitch or something like that.

Yeah, Chris Barrie is absolutely wonderful. How he manages to play that character without cracking every other moment is beyond me. Erm... what's a professional mimic?

Oh, and do they ever get back to Lister's pregnancy in later seasons? I still haven't gotten to see Series 3.

what's a professional mimic?

An impressionist - a performer who specialises in imitating famous people (particularly their voices and facial expressions).

do they ever get back to Lister's pregnancy in later seasons?

They cheated, really - he gives birth between seasons 2 and 3, and the babies (the twins from 'Future Echoes') grow up in the parallel universe with their 'father', Deb. This is all explained in a textdump, which moves across the screen so fast that you can't actually read it!

In the later seasons, there are a few references to the pregnancy, but I don't think we ever see the babies again.

I'm sorry about your knee! I hope you get to rest it and to see a doctor this time.
