Fandom 2009

Your main fandom of the year?
Merlin. Definitely. Also, Torchwood, until the abomination that was CoE

Your favourite film watched this year?
Ladyhawke, seen in original for the first time, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] lissas_elves

Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
Merlin, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
Torchwood CoE. I refuse to accept it as part of the canon. I was also fairly unhappy with the TOS canon rape of a movie.

Your TV boyfriend of the year?
Lancelot from "Merlin". The long-haired version of it. I mean him

Your TV girlfriend of the year?
Haven't really seen any female characters I'd like.

Your biggest squee moment of the year?
Merlin offing Nimueh. And him giving the Great Dragon the finger. Merlin rocks.

The most missed of your old fandoms?
Star Trek, as it used to be in the crappy old times. And the original (=one and only) BSG, now that the By Your Command archive is gone.

The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?
I've got too many fandoms already. But I'd love to see some genuine sci-fi for a change, instead of the sorry excuses (Torchwood, Firefly, etc.) that I saw last year. Although I did like Series 1 an 2 of Torchwood, to a certain extent.

Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?
Finishing "Web of Darkness". Finding readers who actually like my stuff and make the effort to say so. Yeah, I'm pathetic, so what?

Do you have any fandoms you disliked first but fanfic made you love it afterwards? Mine are behind the tag. Tell me about yours!

My knee still hurts like a bitch. Of course, without resting it properly, what can I expect???

I am:
Arthur C. Clarke
Well known for nonfiction science writing and for early promotion of the effort toward space travel, his fiction was often grand and visionary.

Which science fiction writer are you?

Go figure - and I actually hate Clarke. I find his writing incredibly depressive, way too complicate and occasionally boring. I guess I know now why so many peope react the same way to my writings. *g*

PS: Still having very bad knee days.

I saw this on the journal of the lovely [livejournal.com profile] lethe_loyd who offers me the most interesting memes to do. I still dont quite understand how it actually works, but I've simply copy&pasted it below; perhaps others are smarter than I am. *g*

the old.
as a fanfiction writer, have you ever wondered what your 'winning' fic or your most well-loved fanfic is? this meme is for fanficcers who want to know which of their works are others' favorites as well as for readers who want to show more appreciation to the fanficcers.

the new.
it's a new year, and if you're anything like me, you've written more and more fic since the last time this meme was around. so we're gonna do it all over again, and see if your best fic according to others has changed any. this is also a chance for the new writers to see if they've got any favorites among fandom, as well. :)))

rules.
• List the fandoms you write for.
Well, let me see: Tolkien, Star Trek (TOS, TNG, DS9 and Voy), B5, Stargate: Atlantis, Andromeda, Queer As Folk US, Kindred: The Embraced (x-ed over with several other vampire shows, including Angel, Buffy, Poltergeist, etc), Brother Cadfael - have I forgotten anything? If I count the x-overs individually, I come to about a dozen fandoms.

• people will tell you what is their favorite fic/s by you (links appreciated); they can also leave other positive messages.

• since this is an appreciation meme, please do not start wank. (and by please, I mean I'll delete that sh*t pronto. - original quote, so don't shoot me for it, okay?)

So that's it. Feel free to comment.
