Boring domestic stuff behind the tag - you've been warned.

This is a short one because the last day was basically the way home. But I wanted to finish the holiday blog, so here it is.

All in all, it was a fantastic holiday, we saw beautiful things and met wonderful people, and I'm very happy about it, in spite of the flying.

Sorry I'm a little late. The heat wave finally broke for the weekend (as usual), so I used the time of grace to post Luthienn's B5 story to [livejournal.com profile] hiddenrealms as well as Annúminas to the TFF archive - which was overdue. That meant I had 7 and 8 chapters respectively to hand-code, and that not only ate up two days but also ruined my poor eyes, too.

But now up to new adventures!

Last part, with our dramatic trip home, coming up soon.

Well, brain-melting heat still has our wee little country in its merciless grip, so I'm escaping to pleasant memories once more. *g*

So, that was our so-called easy day in Cambridge. The true adventures, however, were waiting for us on the next day.

BTW, [livejournal.com profile] altariel1 has made a great deal of pictures. You can see them in her gallery. The red-haired hobbit with the big, round eyeglasses is me. *g*

Allrighty, the heat is so oppressive here that my brain cells can't recover, so I take refuge by pleasant memories. *g*

More later.

Okay, these will be extremely long entries, I'm afraid, so that's why I'm putting them behind the tag. Nothing evil there, just being considerate towards the people on my friendslist.

Anyway, as you know Mum and I went to Cambridge, with the express purpose on my side to see [livejournal.com profile] altariel1 and [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris, not to mention Cambridge, which is beautiful. It was a journey where I got all I had hoped for and more, but boy, the way there was arduous!

Okay, there'll be more tomorrow, there's more than 30°C over here still, and my brain cells are completely fused - such as I have to begin with. *g*

So, it's offficial now. From 19-23 June, Mom and my not-so-humble self will be roaming the streets of Cambridge. Poor inhabitants...

In any case, if anyone in that area would like to meet me, e-mail me privately, so that we can forge Evil Plans (TM).

On other news, I haven't written a word for a week or more. Which is frustrating, but I'm just not in the right mind for it.

Of course, the fact that I've just acquired seven additional volumes of Brother Cadfael books, might have to do something with it. That, and all the stress of organizing the Cambridge trip.

Six days until [livejournal.com profile] earonn's arrival. Hooray!

Ummm... what else? I forgot. Ah, well, I can still edit the entry later.

So, the train ride is a no-go (we'd have to change the means of our transportation four frigging times, just to get to London), and the coach only goes twice the week, none of which is good for us, for a number of reasons.

So we're going to fly. *teeth clatter in terror*
There's simply no other way. Am scared shitless, and so is Mum.

Anyway, we hope to get the flight tickets arranged on Thursday, and I'll also book the rooms as soon as I have them. Exact details come when I know the time of our arrival in London.

[livejournal.com profile] earonn is coming to stay with me around Pentecost. This will be the first time I met someone from the Edhellond crowd in flesh. Am very excited.

On other news, school still sucks, it's very warm and I got eaten by mosquitoes. No, actually these are the tiny European version of bloodsuckers (no, not the vampires, get your mind out of the gutter!), but just as unpleasant.

Yep, they're actually taking shape. If I haven't qsted too much time already, that is.

But yes, the plan is to go to Cambrige with Mum around the end of June and meet [livejournal.com profile] altariel1 and [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris, if everything turns out according our hopes. Tomorrow, I'm going to the travel agency and ask them for the means we could get there by: most likely train, as we're both deadly afraid of flying and such a long bus ride would kill my legs for good. I still haven't recovered from language camp, and it only lasted a week.

I'm very excited about this possibility, as I've only been to Cambridge once before, and that only for two hours or so. With local friends, who can show one around, it's so much more fun, and we'll even have the time - or so I hope.

So, if any of you Brits happen to be there at the same time, I'd love to meet everyone.
