Getting used to this new life

I haven't posted anything in three days, and that had a reason. Now that the retirement countdown and the Christmas frenzy is behind me, I decided not to put any unnecessary pressure upon myself. I'll post when I actually have something to say and won't see it as an obligation to do so on a daily basis.
The last three days were rather uneventful. On Friday I finally could leave the flat for a short time - just long enough to go to the grocer's - and some fresh air was really wonderful. We ate leftovers all the time; Mum joked about how economic it is for us to cook twice and eat the results for six days. *g*
Today, we returned to our normal Sunday schedule, with Mum going to church and then we went to the Auchan supermarket. It is situated in a small shopping mall called Savoy Park only two tram stops to us, and as there are small eateries as well, on Sunday we usually don't cook but eat there.
In the afternoon I watched Zuhause im Glück and Der Trödeltrupp - I actually managed to catch some old episodes I hadn't seen before, which is rare enough - and then I prepared some light food for tomorrow. I baked cheesy buns and small pastries (from frozen puff pastry), to which I'll make two different fillings tomorrow. Then we'll have little sausages and the amateurish punch that turned out so well for Christmas, and that will basically be it. We never had big parties on New Year's Eve, and the older I get, the more I value the peace and quiet of my home. I'm determined to watch Oliver Kalkofe's marathon program on German TV, though, and if I know the guy well, it will be hilariously funny.

That's how I feel about LJ. My life is rather uneventful so posting every day or even every week is not on.
But I have to remind myself that being on "social media" requires active participation. So, my goal is to post at least once a month. And if I have nothing new to say I just post some pictures. ;-)
Your end-of-year food sounds very tasty.
