I was a tad lazy today, using the penultimate day of autumn break to rest a little. Tinkered a bit with a few presents for my colleagues - certain name days, like Anne, Elizabeth and Catherine are celebrated with much ado in this country, don't ask me why these ones and not the others, and we have two Elizabeths and two Catherines at school, so I thought I'd make them a little nothing, each.

Then I almost finished the next raw draft to Chapter 15 of the Dwobbit. I still have about a page or two to write but I couldn't bring up the energy, which is a rare thing during [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo sessions. I think the fact that we won't have gas in the flat for 5 days next week and therefore won't be able to cook has something to do with it.

However, I've been planning to share this with you for a while:

Not my preferred style of music, to put it very mildly, but in this case... I think it has something very Dwarvish. When the Dwarves are stark raging mad with anger.

Surprisingly enough, so do I!
(The young guy with the long dark hair even looks like Kíli a bit - if he were portrayed as a warrior in the films, not an idiot prankster.)

Indeed. I imagine the original version being a song of remembrance and this one a battle song. *g*

I really like that - I must share it with my husband.

That one of them is such a Kili look alike certainly helps, too!

He is, isn't he? Personally, I never thought Fíli and Kíli would be the idiot pranksters they're shown in so many fanfics (and also in the film at times, unfortunately). The same is true for Elladen and Elrohir. *points at icon* I blame the Weasley twins for this trend.

I can imagine Kíli going into battle singing a battle song like this, though - and accordingly battle-mad.

Enjoyed the video. I love that particular piece no matter how it is played, but prefer the slow lament. The guys singing would make good Dwarves, eh? And the energetic singer does look like the movie version of Kili, lol. No gas for 5 days, I hope for a good reason!

The slow lament is beautiful and Richard Armitage's singing voice unique. No-one can do better. Still, these guys would make good Dwarves indeed, and I prefer this version to the long, whiny one at the end of the first film. One simply can't sing a Dwarven song convincingly with a high, nasal voice.
