Drawing closer to Xmas...

... I've finally got the Christmas tree. From a different vendor, only a few metres away from the one by whom I used to buy it and will never buy again. I hope he saw me.
*is feeling bitchy*
New tree is very pretty, and I managed to get it home without breaking a leg or whatnot in those hundred metres or so between the market and my home. Go me!
Did the big shopping thing (only edible items) with Mum today. We only forget to buy the red cabbage, which will be needed for the Christmas Eve dinner, so I'll have to go down tomorrow again. Drat. I didn't plan to leave the house at all until Christmas is over. Ah, well, it won't be such a long trip, after all.
Mum did the heroic step of returning to her own bed tonight. She declared that she's well enough to give me back mine, which, considering the horror trip through snow and ice on Sunday evening and her partying in her old workplace yesterday all afternoon, I can hardly contradict. Am still worried a bit that she'll overstrain herself by getting up from that low bed twice or thrice a night, but she swore she'd do it slowly and carefully. So let's hope it will go well.
It would be hard to deny that I'm happy to have my own bed back. I might have griped about the poor thing in the past, but, well, it's still my bed, where I at least have enough room. But it's more than just a bed - I do everything on it, lying on my belly to take my weight off my poor feet. It's my very way of existence, which I've missed for three and a half month. It also means that I can have my room back - not much of a privacy, but at least *some*. I can dig myself in and be in peace, if I need; staying in the living room, where Mum is all the time and everyone who drops by, wasn't the same.
In any case, Christmas holidays started today, and since we're not planning anything big for the time, I really hope to rest and write a great deal.
