FF.Net never ceases to amaze me

It has stopped to e-mail reviews to me. And that while I've got Review Alerts enabled and bot@fanfiction.com added to my Conctacts list at Hotmail. Is very annyoing. I get so very few reviews as it is, and if FF.Net keeps eat them, it's really, really mean.
Edit: It turns out that Aislynn is a genius, after all. I did some more digging within Hotmail, and figured out that somehow FF.Net managed to get onto the blocked senders list. How, I have no idea. I haven't blocked anyone for years. Ah, well, FF.Net unblocked, the reviews can come... although I don't have very high hopes.

Date: 2009-06-30 06:25 pm (UTC)Is it a general problem? I know the site has its glitches from time to time (from other writers' complaints on LJ).
How are you holding up these days? My summer holidays began 5 hours ago - wonderful! XD

Date: 2009-06-30 06:33 pm (UTC)I'm doing well enough, thank you. Busy with my diet, which, at least, makes me feel... lighter, somehow, I don't know, although I miss my bread and cakes and sweets terribly. *g*
Have updated six of my never-ending WIPs, so far, four of them in the Tolkienverse. The interest is... underwhelming, to put it mildly, but that's, alas, not surprising. And while it hurts that my work is valued so very little, having done so much already *is* a good feeling.
I'm planning to move on to the Cadfael story and the Babylon 5/Voyager crossover next.
So, and what are your plans for the holidays?

It never ceases to amaze me how you can continue to work on your stories despite the stress, knee trouble, worrying about your mother's health etc. How on earth do you manage?!? I admire you for it.

I'm going to the UK on Thursday to meet some friends from the writer's forum. We'll be spending a few days in a cottage, talking Tolkien and exploring not only the surrounding area, which is a wonderful nature reserve, but also the pub in the next village. Yay! *g*
After that, I'll meet up with an LJ friend who's got some very interesting stuff planned, both Tolkien related and regarding our other common interest, sheep. (Yes, I said sheep - lol)
Will be without internet during the trip, but is back home next Wednesday. Hopefully, I'll manage to write a bit by then. Last few things I've done were rather... peculiar (none posted!). Some were sordid, some in the blood and gore category. Have you ever noticed any relation between stress and the nature of what you write?

Date: 2009-06-30 10:07 pm (UTC)When I'm in great stress, writing is an outlet that keeps me sane. Sometimes, like right now, I simply force myself to sit down and get through half-written chapters and finish them, no matter what. I'm certainly not doing it for the feedback that never comes. Well, almost never. Dís is keeping me from starving completely in these days, the dear girl. Well, at least I didn't get any nasty grammar-related remarks, either.
I envy you so much! I never had the chance to discuss Tolkien with anyone since I learned about the existence of the fandom. I'd so love to do it, but, well...
Sometimes, yeah. When I was younger, definitely. Tend to write more angst, smut and gore in these times, albeit less so in thse days.

Date: 2009-06-30 10:19 pm (UTC)Yeah. Never met other Tolkien-fans myself until 20 years after I first read LOTR. The internet has given us a unique chance to find like-minded people. I think the other participants are more into fandom than I, but it'll be fun, being able to talk about your hobby without people looking at you a bit funny.

Therapeutic. Hmm, makes sense. Good for you that you're able to do that.
