So, first and foremost: school's out in two weeks. *squeals*
Okay, next week will be hell, but after that things are gonna calm down, and we finish term on June 16. *is insanely happy*

"Elf-root" has been nominated for the MEFAs by Larner. It won't have a rat's chance to win, there are always tons of Hobbit stories, but I don't really care. It was a fun story to write, and I'm glad that people seemed to like it. It had lots of reviews - almost as many as a drabble from some established Hobbit writer would get, so I'm not so bad off, I think. Considering that the only other new Tolkien stuff I wrote in a year were the four independent Halabor vignettes and "The Book of Mazarbul", I'm surprised that I even made it into a nominations. I've got tons of older stories that haven't been nominated yet and thus would be eligible, but nobody reads older stories anymore, so I guess I was lucky. *shrugs*

German TW is gonna show Season 2 of "Torchwood" right after Season 1. On the one side, it's a good thing, at least we won't have to wait for another year or two. On the other side, it's annoying, as I'm going to miss one episode from the middle of the season, perhaps "Meat" or the one coming after it, as I'll be in Belgium or in the Netherlands at that time.

Drat, I really need to find a boxed edition of Season 2. I had no luck last time in Vienna, and the lot that for some unfathomable reason published Season 1 here in Hungary (without the extras, of course) doesn't show any intention to add Season 2. Drat, drat & drat. Those smegheads!

Yes, as you probably can guess, I got completely brainwashed by "Red Dwarf". But there are worse things, I guess. And - Pentecost be blessed - we're looking forward to a loooong weekend. Three days without school! Heh! Am dragging Mum to the new Star Trek movie tomorrow or the day after.

Try PayPal. You can make international payments from your bank account without a credit card. PayPal handles converting your currency (and yes, it accepts the forint!). I can't remember if Amazon accepts PayPal, but many stores do (including eBay, which invented it).

Well, the sad truth is that without the help of someone who'd know how to do it, I'd never dare to start anything like that. My web skills are nonexistent, and I'm also deeply suspicious. Yeah, it's stupid, I know, but I can't help it.

I hope a friend of mine will come over eventually and navigate me through the process. If not, web shopping will remain an unexplored area for me.
