We started to empty the rooms that are gonna be redecorated on Monday and Tuesday. That is, the balcony, the hall, the kitchen, the bath and the toilet. Now the whole flat looks as if hit by a grenade, and we aren't even finished yet. But redecoration is seriously overdue; I don't even dare to say when it was the last time...

When the redecoration is done, carpet washing will follow, and after that, school will start again. Speak about getting gradually depressed. Why is it that the good times in our life are always so short? Like summer holidays?

I've updated Web of Darkness and The Toreador Chronicles and got routinely ignored. So, what's new? At least Weasel Fu resurfaced on FF.Net for the last two updates of WoD, and I still have Dís and Jasta. My vampire groupies will return to the Chronicles, eventually. They are few, but faithful.

Still no gold medal on the Olympic Games. I've begun to seriously doubt that there will be one. Last time, we had eight. Ah, well, small nations just can't keep up.

Went to the doctor with Mum the day before yesterday, to have our eyes routinely checked. It seems that neither of us has gotten any worse, which is a relief. Now if we just could squeeze in the dentist sometime before school gets into full gear...

I'll cross my fingers for Hungary! But be comforted: in Sidney the Dutch won 12 gold meldals, in Athens only four, and this time we'll be lucky to get even that much.

Hey, Finch, it's good to see that you're still alive! I was firing on the German and Dutch teams wherever we had no athlete of our own, as I used to live in both countries and feel a certain degree of loyalty. *g*

What happened to your pretty wonder swimmer, Pietje Whatshisname? He was a really big deal in Athens, wasn't he?

His name is Pieter van den Hoogenband, and he won the 100 m freestyle both in Sydney and Athens (among other things). In Beijing, he tried to win it for the third time in a row in an attempt to write history but got no further than a fifth place, though he actually improved his personal best. Which shows that developments in swimming go faster than mortal man can keep up with.

I feel sorry for Laszlo Cseh. He'd have grossed in gold medals if he hadn't been up against one Michael Phelps...

Yes, he was in his best form ever, the poor boy. But since Phelps apparently has shark genes and quills, it was a moot point. A shame, really. At least he beat Lochte three times soundly - that's worth a lot.

I'm sorry for your swimmer. I liked him a lot last time.
