Turning into a groundhog

The heat is back - again - worse than before. Everything that needs to be done has to be done in the early morning hours, and I am not an early riser, dammit! By the time I helped Mum with her morning ritual, washed my hair, took my own shower and did a bit of paper embroidery, it was well into the 30s (meaning grades) already and I was dead on my feet. I was so tired that I actually started shivering with cold, which is apparently the required effect of the Finnish sauna! So I put on two more layers, wrapped myself into a knitted blanket and lay down to sleep. At noon!
Of course, I woke up drenched in sweet only two hours later (Mum was basically the same). Fortunately, we had leftovers, so I didn't have to cook. After a late lunch, I lay down for another hour of unruly sleep, while Mum was sleeping in her armchair in front of the telly. What a day! And tomorrow will be even hotter, and we're going to have a visit from the extremely talkative chiropodist lady. Woe me!
To end this whiny entry on a positive note, here are the new cards:

They were really complicated to make, so there are a few hidden mistakes (hopefully not too obvious one), but I'm fairly content with the outcome.
And later on...
Vodafone played a mean trick on us. We were in the middle of watching the only watchable programme today when suddenly both TV and internet were gone. After a few minutes they came back, but we had half the TV channels missing. It took me an hour and a half on the phone until I could finally got one of the techies to speak to, who then solved the problem remotely in less than five minutes. Not something my blood pressure needed at 30+ degrees in the night, too...

Date: 2024-08-18 09:25 pm (UTC)We've been under heat alerts most of the summer, but the difference is we have air conditioner (A MUST). We limit the time spent outside, as overheating can happen easily. I'm sorry you are having to face such heat with no cooling method. Scary that you had chills, be careful.
