By-bye, 2022!

You have been a difficult year for many people. I'm among the lucky ones who only experienced the difficulties tangentially, but it was enough to make me all stressed out and scared. So, I won't be sorry to wave you out of the door, hoping that your successor would be a better one. (I know it probably won't but one can dream, right?)
Now that that is out of the way, we had a quiet day. Got up at the usual time, performed our morning routine, then I made vol-au-vents for a midnight snack. One of our neighbours dropped by and brought a small offering of salty snacks, which would have been welcome after all the sweet things we've been eating lately... if only she would have been a bit more generous with the salt. Still, it was nice of her, and we had them for lunch with leftover soup and a pair of rather horrible Vienna sausages. Note to me: never again pre-packed Wiener Würstchen! Not even if they are on sale! 'Nuff said!
I worked a bit on the deep sea page: fixed all the background stuff, including the stupid coral, so the submarine now can move up and down. I also finished the seahorse - it is rather cute. Left are a jellyfish, a starfish and a crab, and then I'll be done with this page.
In the afternoon, I called my friends Evie and Elise, and then rested a bit, playing Solitaire on my geriatric laptop - the only electronic device in the house on which this particular site of games actually works. I also took out the vacuum cleaner to empty it, after the last cleaning frenzy. I didn't get around to do it before, and - according to my late grandmother - whatever you don on New Year's Day, you'll be do all thorough the next year. Emptying the vacuum cleaner is definitely not something I'd like doing all the time. Ewww!
So, the only thing what remains is to wish everywhere a happier new year - and hope that the remaining 10 of the 11 Christmas cards I posted, oh, two or so weeks ago, will eventually reach their destination. *fingers crossed*
