First of all, again, Merry Christmas to everyone! We had a quiet day, as usual; I cooked lunch, did some minor crafting, put away things that were no longer needed (like cookie tins) and watched some telly. But that's okay. I like quiet days.

Secondly, I finally got around to take some photos, so I'm gonna spam you with them now. *g*

The Yule log:

It looks good enough on the outside; alas, the spiral in the inside is nonexistent. Instead, the buttercream got pressed together into the bizarre outline of a dead bat. But it is yummy, and that's what counts, right?

The car page of Dani's quiet book:

The colours are a tad more lively in truth, but I couldn't really capture them with the mini, so you'll just take my word for it. ;) That's 6 pages finished, 2 more to do, and then I can put the book together. Should be doable till February.

And finally the gift card I've made for my friend Evie in a great hurry.

She's moved houses this summer (not quite voluntarily) and is now trying to turn the garden around the new house into a mini-orchard. So, this is a gift voucher for two fruit tree seedlings of her choice (one from Mum, one from me), for whenever it is the time to plant them. Her new house is much smaller than the old one was, and we didn't want to buy her something useless, so we decided to gift two fruit trees upon her.

Oh, and the last cookie tin has been fetched. Gaby dropped by to collect her share of cookies. Now the balcony has begun to empty out... to a certain degree. *g*

She's always loved her garden, and now she had to start everything from scratch again. The previous owner had nothing but flowers in the garden, which is lovely, but growing things you can eat is more practical. Besides, there'll be enough space for flowers, too. Evie wants to leave a patch free for wild flowers; her eldest has bee-keeping as a hobby and plans to have his own swarm, so they'd need a "grazing" place. *g*

What a great idea to gift fruit trees! And I'd love to have a piece of the log! There's nothing better than buttercream!

One day we'll be able to meet, and then I'll bake something delicious to celebrate. :)

I love the idea of gifting a couple of trees. What a long lived gift. That page looks amazing. Your designs are growing more and more complex and yet you are still knocking them out of the park.

I find that I enjoy making these things more and more. The struggle with paper or felt breaks the monotony of my daily life. Not that monotony would be all that bad — remember that Chinese curse about interesting times? But using one's creativity is always uplifting for morale.

The most important thing is that the yule log tastes good. *lol*

I very much agree. It will also last several days, being so rich and all that.

I am really glad that you both had a good day — and I'm sure that the roll will eat just as well no matter what shape it forms inside!

Oh, it is very yummy all right — and also very rich. So I cut off a good chunk and took it to the neighbours who have teenage kids to make it easier for them to feed the young ones. ;))

I'd be inclined to do the same thing — there is only so much temptation in the house that I can resist!
