Advent, Day 2

It was an eventful day - in the rather domestic sense of the word.
Firstly, I went to Aldi early on because they had sales (like bananas or fruit yogurt) I was interested in. I won't rant about prices and the sales trap again because it's getting boring. You know what I mean anyway.
Then I finished the surprise packages for the fair. Basically, they are toilet rolls, covered with Christmas-themed wrapping paper, and both ends knicked in, so that they'd form small boxes. There are little thing inside, like those tiny Harry Potter figurines they gave one at the supermarkets after having bought stuff for above a certain amount of money. Those packages are the ones with a very small budget, as I'll sell them for the equivalent of roughly 1 Eurocent. The kids always like these things (especially those who can't afford the price-y ones), and the packages turned out rather pretty, if I say so myself.
Then I continued my long twilight struggle with a batch of silk floss (or silk thread or whatever it is called in English), which was left in an unholy tangled mess some three years ago, when I was still working. I forgot about it, but I rediscovered it while looking for hangings for the gift tags I prepared for the fair. Needless to say that after several days I'm still not much closer to untangle the... thing. But I can do it wonderfully while watching crap telly, so no time is completely wasted on it.
Between two episodes of Auf Streife I also cooked lunch, which turned out terrific. But again, it is hard to mess up Champingonfleisch as long as you take care of the right amount of ingredients. I only overdosed the salt a bit, but Mum likes her food a bit more salty than I, so it was okay.
Later on I finished the two pencil holders for the fair. I think they are very pretty. I hope potential customers will think the same. I'll try to take some acceptable photos tomorrow, assuming the sun deigns to show its face.
Now I'm ripe for playing some online Solitaire, and then to continue my struggle with the tangled mess while watching Dr. Pimple Popper and then the Great Australian Bake-Off with one eye. Yes, I know I have a sorry taste where TV is concerned. But they never show any sci-fi anymore, so I opt for the stuff where I can craft (or solve crossword puzzles) at the same time.

Date: 2022-12-03 07:24 pm (UTC)I've seen the Canadian one and I like it, the challenges are interesting and I like the people (I especially like that there's nobody I find as irritating as Noel). There's an Irish one too, I want to check that one out at some point.
