My wonderful beta sent me the next chapter of Alternate Caretaker last night, but I'm holding it back for a few days to allow people to read Kansas first.

Oh, and I'm apparently made into the semi-finals of the Mithrils. Go figure. That's the farthest I've ever got in any awards. My hopes for further headway are moderate, to put it mildly, but even this makes me feel a little better. It seems that posting those two fics to the Stories of Arda has paid out.

Congratulations on the Mithrels. You do deserve it. Just out of curiousity, how did you find out you've made the semi-finals?

As for how I found out, the Awards Committee sent me an official notification.

Ah, I see. That would make sense. Hopefully, you'll go all the way to the top!

I'm trying not to keep my hopes too high - in order to keep the disappointment on a semi-bearable level. I know it's stupid, but I'd love it if people (I mean other people than my dear, faithful personal friends) actually admitted in this fractured, hostile fandom that I do occasionally write a good story or two. Even if they aren't about the Fëanorians or about Legolas' Twu Wub (preferably a male one).

Of course you write a good story, and I'm not just saying that. It's not your fault that you write about insanely popular characters. I feel sure you'll go higher yet!
