Success!

First of all, the cookie recipe I've promised. [livejournal.com profile] noadvertising, this one is for you.

Toffeeküsschen )

In other news, I've actually finished "EMV II - The Disinherited", my second story in the "Enterprise - The Maiden Voyage" series. *is proud* The November session of [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo already counts as a great success.

Crafting-wise I haven't done much, since I was busy with cookie decorating and boxing, cooking (that was the easy part: pulled pork from Lidl I just had to warm up in the oven, and mashed potatoes), a food run and preparing for tomorrow's cleaning frenzy. Yeah, another fortnight is over, go figure! I did make one more cat-in-the-sack gift box, though, so there was some crafting as well.

After several days of no crafting (for various reasons), I've finally finished my little lavender sachets for the Christmas fair. I've managed to overlook one bag of them and realized with surprise that I actually have 15 of them, instead of 10. Shows how organized my craft room/study is right?

Anyway, here they are:

They're all quite different in size, shape and pattern, but I hope that won't discourage the potential buyers. Of course, I couldn't get my hands on enough lavender to fill them with the flowers alone, so there's a lot of cotton wool in them as well, but they all smell very nicely, so let's hope they'll sell. I put them into a sealed plastic box to keep the smell inside.

Not much else was done; I was still tired from last week and from the upset stomach of yesterday. I did a tiny bit of writing and watched some Enterprise episodes - alas, on my old, analog telly as I have forgotten how to watch DVDs with Windows Media Player; something I knew how to do once. Encroaching dementia, I guess. *sigh* And I hoped Methuselah-the-laptop would be good for something at least, as it has a nice, large and sharp screen. Ah, well.

Oh, and my lovely beta wrote back that she had received the finished Enterprise story. I wonder what she'll thing about it. *fingers crossed*

This is the 3rd sequel to my nearly-finished story Enterprise - The Maiden Voyage. I've decided to end the first part with Chapter 23 instead of turning it into another never-ending monstrosity. Part II will be my very AU version of the canon episode "Minefield" and Part III that of "Cold Stop". My hope is to end the series with Part VI, but we'll see.

Anyway, this is Chapter 1 of my version of "Shuttlepod One", featuring Hoshi and Reed instead of Tucker and Reed for reasons probably obvious for those who've read the first part. *hint, hint*

No, really, my mind isn't continually occupied with domestic stuff and the likes. I'm trying to get back to regular writing because frankly, I miss writing as if it were a lost limb. Since I've made some moderate progress with "A Stitch in Time" lately, I also started re-watching the ST: Enterprise episodes that might be significant for this crossover AU. It makes up for no longer having telly in my bedroom. Well, I do have the telly, as the machine, but no longer any programmes on it.
Irritated rambling is hidden here )

On the domestic front, I made a food run today, cooked honey chicken with a very bastardised version of Cantonese rice, practiced a bit of my knitting (and botched up the pattern completely - all that counting retired makes my head spin!) and tried to select some more craft paper for the upcoming baby book. I'm still not satisfied with my stock, but it's better than nothing. Oh, and I've managed to iron out that ugly crease from the textile book's outer cover... almost completely.

I was busy today. Very, very busy. But it was a good thing, as I was busy with my own interests, with lots of me-time. Yay!

First, I boxed the Easter biscuits that got finished yesterday. That was quick, but I'm glad it's done and out of my hair.

Then I took out my Enterprise/Whoniverse crossover trilogy and completely revised the layout of the second and third parts. Well, perhaps "rearranged" would be a better word for it. I've finalized the canon episodes that will be handled in these two parts, inserted the AU elements I'm going to use, and now I know what will happen, in which order and how it will all end. I'm very pleased, even though it means that Part 2 will gain at least six additional chapters, aside from the two or three that had originally been planned. But that can't be helped, if I want to deliver a coherent story.

This, of course, means downloading and printing out several more episode summaries and transcripts (I'll need a lot of canon dialogue for this to work), but hey, it can be done! I'm very happy.

I also did a bit of crafting in the afternoon. The Hello Kitty booklets now all have the beds and the bedroom rugs fixed. Next up will be the bedside tables, the lamps(*) and the wall clocks, and the bedrooms will be finished. That would be two rooms out of four, each, so I actually might be able to complete the things by the end of June when they are due.

Oh, and Stories of Arda is down again. It briefly worked last night, but all I'm getting now is an error message again. I hope it doesn't mean the site would be about to collapse. I was planning to download a few favourites today... :((

(*) The original bedroom design I downloaded as a free template had a fish bowl on the bedside table, but that could be dangerous, right? What if Kitty becomes peckish during the night? That goldfish wouldn't stand a chance! *g*

So, folks, I've managed to type up the first chapter of "A Stitch in Time", the sequel to "A Matter of Time". Right now, it's only posted to [livejournal.com profile] otherworlds_lib, as I didn't want to break the updates to "Magic Mirror" on AO3, but I thought I'd make it available to Torchwood and Star Trek - Enterprise fans, in the perhaps naive hope that someone would be actually interested.

Firstly, the regular stuff: Chapter 6 - The Gateway of Enterprise - The Maiden Voyage has been posted to FF.Net on schedule. Go me!

Secondly, I've finally sit down to rewrite the next four-part sequence of Prophecy&Change, the Babylon 5/Crusade AU I originally started with [livejournal.com profile] eye_of_a_cat as a parody. She kindly consented to my rewriting it into an actual, serious story, but I was hindered by other projects for a while. But now Chapter 6 - The End of the Line, Part 1 has also been finished and I'll regularly update for the next 3 weeks.

Afterwards, I'll actually have to write new stuff, so a lengthy pause is to be expected. Apologies in advance.

Apologies for forgetting to post an update alert for Chapter 10. RL has been being gruelling lately. I'm surprised that I can still bring up the energy to write at all!
