For one of the countless colleagues whose name begins with an "E". *g*
I've cut out the pieces right away when we started our sewing workshop for the fair but never came around to actually sew them. Well, they're done now.

Front view on the left, back view on the right. As always, click to enlarge.

They are really small, could fit into my hand, which makes the working out of the details a bit tricky, but I'm pleased with the outcome and E liked them a lot. Mission accomplished then, so I can focus my attention on the dratted cold I've managed to catch again.

I feel a bit under the weather, so I decided against re-reading 'The Murder at the Vicarage', since I've read that book so many times I could quote the dialogue or large chunks of the description. I went on watching "Sleeping Murder" instead, as I could do that lazing around on my bed; I was a bit drained after choir practice, TBH. It is a good thing that I also went to Lidl's, so I won't have to leave the house tomorrow at all. Yay!

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] meathiel, would it be okay if I sent you the Miss Marple photo I found, or should I upload it here? Which is the easiest for you?

They're meant to be gingerbread cookies I hope? Cos in the US and UK they might be misconstrued. O_o

Somewhat burned gingerbread cookies, I'm afraid. There wasn't any lighter brown stuff when I cut them out.
I usually prefer this colour for them:

But they're wearing Austrian/Hungarian colours and motifs, so they'll have to do. TBH, I'm getting sick and tired of always looking around twice to see who might take offence where none was meant. Political correctness is nice and good, but there could sometimes be too much of a good thing.

I mean isn't it ridiculous that people think they even need to rename food items like Mohrenköpfe, just to be sure they won't trod on anyone's toes? I'm (NOT) waiting for the day when even the well-known and well-loved dish Zigeunerbraten will be called something else...

Zigeunerschnitzel already is frowned upon here and renamed to Paprikaschnitzel - which imo is something completely different.

Oh, it is completely different, believe me! My Granny had a fantastic recipe for Paprikaschnitzel, with a lovely sauce. Zigeunerbraten, OTOH, is just a piece of steak with a thick slice of bacon on it.

Thank you. I have improved a little; not that I'd have been really ill - just unwell. I had worse - much worse - every winter while I was still working, but it is an annoyance nonetheless. The worst part is that by the time I'll have mostly recovered, we'll have another choir practice in that poorly heated room, and then everything will start from square one again.

I used to have bronchitis every winter for years. Even indoors I'd be wearing a scarf and I often lost my voice as well. Then I quit smoking cigarettes. I haven't had bronchitis since. Now I only get a sore throat from going to church. Thats because of all of the singing we do. It's all so out of my limited range!

hugs, tho. Don't push yourself too hard.

Oh, me too - chronic bronchitis every winter until the age of 16, when my tonsils were finally removed. Now I just tend to catch a bad cold every time I'm in a draughty room or in one not properly heated. Grrrr!

Can you wear a scarf to practice? Also, something I find soothing for a cold is *hot* lemonade with honey. I don't know if there is actually any medicinal value but it is such a comfort.
