We finally got the chance to go and see Baby Emma, and she is indeed every bit as sweet in life as on the photos. She's also a huge baby, about 5000 grams at 2.3 weeks and an earnest feeder. As my goddaughter (her mum) says, she lives for three things: to eat, to sleep and to make her nappy full. Other than that, she's a really calm, patient baby, unlike her brother was, and the parents even get a few hours of undisturbed sleep every night.

The Raffello bouquet:

and the baby journal:

were a raging success, my goddaughter literally cried when she saw them. I love making things for people who appreciate the effort!

We also had midday meal with them. H. (her mum, who's the wife of my cousin) cooked an old family recipe: estragon soup with chicken paprikas, and made an interesting Kuchen: chocolate sponge cake with Griesbrei on top. It was yummy! We spent most of the day with them, Mum enjoyed herself greatly, and so did I, honestly.

Glad you finally got to visit baby Emma.

That cake sounds ... interesting ... indeed. I can't imagine what it's like.

It was really fine. Just the simplest sponge cake (cocoa flavour), baked in a square tin, with Griesbrei on top (I'm not sure if it had any Geliermittel in it, though), sprinkled with cocoa powder.

So glad you finally got to see baby Emma in person. What Mum would not cry with happiness to get such a journal for their daughter - it truly came out precious. The bouquet is lovely too!

Thank you. Together, the journal and the bouquet cost me five months of work, so I'm truly relieved that she liked them.
