And I mean really, really hot. Over 30°C, which can happen in June, but the main problem is that these weather changes are so sudden. One cannot gradually prepare oneself for summer, it's just here, without warning. Well, at least it doesn't make the balcony leak, so that's something.

I don't bear heat easily. Never did, and the older I get the more I suffer from it. So I haven't done much today, save for a bit of rearranging my craft things in the corner cupboard, making the basic shape of the replacement baby journal - on of those very easy ones where you basically put some envelopes into each other and glue them together - and watching lots of TV. RTL2 held a Trödeltrupp marathon to honour the holiday, although I can't really see the connection between the Holy Spirit and second-hand trade. But I guess they knew that people simply like the program (I certainly do) and are willing to watch re-runs all day (I certainly did).

Fortunately, we didn't have to cook today, as we had some leftover soup and asparagus quiche and a chunk of cheesecake, so it was okay. Tomorrow will be another matter entirely. I'll have to go to school, as the eggs we regularly order from a chicken farm will (hopefully) arrive, and I'll have to shop for groceries again, which promises to be a real battle. Before and after a three-day-holiday (during which the shops are closed) most Hungarian people suddenly become afraid of starving and the food shops make me think of the food riots mentioned in Babylon 5. Plus, I'll have a student and the new cleaning lady is coming to discuss things with us, so it will be a very busy day. By temperatures beyond 30°C. Joy. Not.

At least I managed to write another scene for the latest Kansas 2 chapter and even typed it up in an heroic effort of willpower. That should count for something, right? If I could cough up another filler scene during this week, Chapter 29 would be finished. *fingers crossed*

Well, yeah, Hungary used to be a predominantly Catholic country once, and the church holidays were kept out of tradition, I guess.
