Bobó, the Babó - a different approach
May. 20th, 2019 08:49 pmThis time using patterned fabric instead of felt for hood and jacket. I'm much happier with this version, I find it turned out really, really cute.

In other news, we had heavy rain yesterday and this afternoon. We collected about a litre of rain water leaking into the balcony last night - my makeshift system of tinfoil, sponges and a plastic box worked like a charm - and had some leakage in the afternoon, too. It seems we need to get used to this happening every time the rain hits the building in a certain angle. *sigh*
Also the German Rentenversicherung sent me about a ton of documents, written in Amtsdeutsch that even native speakers would find hard to understand. Mum and I only spent an hour or two respectively for a first look; tomorrow we'll sacrifice the entire morning to find out what the hell I'm supposed to do with them. And we both speak German fairly well... or so we thought until now.
I still haven't managed to reach the guy supposedly dealing with my retirement papers, but at least I succeeded in booking an appointment with his office - in two weeks' time! Actually it's longer, the first free appointment was next Wednesday, but at least it is mine now. I'll go in and turn over the desk of someone if they don't do something - at least giving me some attest that I'm in the process of being retired, so that I can at least buy the cheaper monthly card for city transportation. It really, really hurt that I still had to buy the full-price card today, despite not having an income right now.

Date: 2019-05-21 06:08 pm (UTC)Yeah, I know. Which is why I'm going to scan in the important-looking parts and e-mail them to the wife of my cousin. She's German, perhaps together we'll figure out what I need to do. Originally, I wanted to visit her, but her grandson has the chicken pox, so I won't dare to bring the virus home for Mum.
