We seem to be accident-prone lately

Yeah. The heating has been fixed, which is good, but poor Mum took a fall in the living room and managed to land on the armrest of her chair. Fortunately, it's an overstuffed armchair, so she didn't break any bones, but now she has a roughed up patch of skin on her arm. It looks almost like the burn I had on my hand a couple of years ago, just not so severe. But it's ugly enough; the fabric that's covering the armrest rubbed against her skin and there was some bleeding, too. It's begun scabbing over (is that the right word?) but I don't know what we're supposed to do with it for the night. She's a very restless sleeper and I'm afraid that she'll make things worse, even if we bandage the injury.

Never a calm day for the wicked. *sigh*

That sounds horrible! Hope she feels better soon.

She isn't in any pain, so that's good. My only fear is a possible infection, so I try my best to prevent it.

I know these things can take a long time to heal, but I'm sure you're doing a good job of looking after her. (My father was forever getting them in his falls, but it never went on to cause infection in his case.)

Thank you for the encouragement. The injury is indeed healing nicely, so I'm getting carefully optimistic about the whole thing.
