Scones!

I've been watching old re-runs of "The Great British Bake-Off" again and felt like making some scones. Only that instead of clotted cream, which is a) extremely caloric and b) not available over here, I filled them with low-fat Vanilla-Crémequark. Here are the results:

They are a bit lopsided, the poor dears, but very yummy. And yes, the strawberry jam is home-made, too.

On less than pleasant news, my iPad is acting up again. Half an hour ago I took a photo of my scones, sent it to myself, everything OK; now all it is willing to do is to offer me to type in my personal code and then everything goes dark. It is very annoying, as I don't have the big desktop PC running all day, so the iPad is my actual link to the rest of the world. I only hope my neighbour the IT guy can do something when he comes home. I left the iPad with his mother-in-law.

Not the lightest kind of food perhaps, but yummy indeed.

Hmmmm ... scones ...
Love them with clotted cream, though, and f*** the calories. *lol*

I never had any clotted cream, so I can't comment on that, but I agree with the sentiment in general. *g*

We're lucky enough that we can sometimes get it at Real or Kaufhof!

Those look yummy. I do like a good scone. We rarely bother with cream when we have them at home - butter and good jam is just as good and much easier to rustle up on a Sunday afternoon if I make scones.

Well, the honest truth is that we simply love Quark-créme and I use every excuse to make some. *g*
It goes very well with the home-made strawberry jam.

We call them "biscuits" in the US and they are a staple in the south. Yours look yummy!

Yummy, yes, but I do find them a bit too rich. I prefer sponge cake or those dry little biscuits we make for Christmas. But I wanted to give them a try.
