Haha ... I really love this curtains discussion. Difference of culture, eh? Germans seem to be more like Hungarians - we have "net" curtains on all windows as well. I have to admit I wash mine ... errr ... maybe once a year? And my mum takes them down and up because I'm afraid of heights, so the ladder is a big no!
