wiseheart... and for the first time ever, I can actually contribute to the Halloween flair. I tried my hand on pumpkin carving today and the results, well... they fit the holiday, I think. Not quite voluntarily, I might add, but there's a reason why I never wanted to become a sculptor.
So, this is my first ever jack'o lantern. Very basic, I'm afraid, and not terribly impressive:
Which is why I took a photo with the lights out:
And because Halloween wouldn't be right without a witch present, here is the "artist" with her precious piece of art. Now you might understand why I hate to be photographed. I swear, I don't look quite this disgusting in real life. It's a 3D face being flattened out on a 2D photo that makes the effect. That and the fact that photos taken with an iPad tend to enlarge every uneven spot on your face at least by the factor of ten.
And the classic black-and-white version of the same, to increase the horror effect:
Other than that, Mum's prehistoric telly died on us for good, so we'll have to buy a new, flat, digital one that won't last half as long as the old one did. But that's capitalism for you.
