I'm glad your audience enjoyed the gift of song you gave them.
It always seems a shame when the focus on "performance" steals the joy that singing brings to one's mind, body and soul. There's a big difference between taking on something a little challenging, which stretches the mind and body without robbing the joy, and struggling to achieve something that is out of reach. I hope someone can quietly speak with your choir leader to recalibrate her goals/expectations so you singers can once again the joy of making good music!
