Dear all,

Day 1 of the party has been a great success: 170 comments on 2 pages so far. As agreed, I hereby kick off the second day, so that we won't lose everything like last year, should LJ crash our party again.

Threads of interest can still be commented on, but I ask you to start any new threads here from now on

And now: on with the party!!!

So, since we've been discussing food anyway, wish me luck! I'm going to bake apple tarts with 18 (!) ten-year-old kids tomorrow afternoon. Yep, baking season at school has started. *g*

Good luck with baking with 18 10 year olds - I couldn't do it, though you will have apple tarts to look forward to.

Oh, I do that sort of thing regularly, as you know. It's just that this is a new group that I don't know yet - well, I do know them, of course, I teach them, after all, I just don't know what they're like in a kitchen, around hot ovens and pointy objects.

Yes, thank you. I was dead on my feet after the session, but the kids enjoyed themselves enormously. They even took pictures with their smartphones, posing with their piece of cake and were generally happy. I hadn't even terrorize them into doing the washing-up - some of them did it voluntarily.
