As you can see on the update alerts, I'm still alive... barely.

Warning? lots of RL-related whining behind the tag.

I'm just drowning in work and incredibly depressed by our &@|ÄÄđ]|&@{][đ[đä@>đ|äđĐ]Đ[€ government's fantastic plans for our future. Apparently, brand new taxes are being introduced gradually (or not so gradually), which means that we, small people, who don't have the means to steal, lie and cheat when it comes to our income, will bear the major height of it. Again. We had to cut back on quite a few things already, and the near future promises to be a lot worse. So, Mum and I decided to go to Germany this summer, 'cause next year we might not be able to afford any longer trip.

We're planning to move my grandparents from the cemetery across the city - and those who've visited Budapest can tell you that it's a frigging huge city - to the columbarium of a nearby church. It will cost more than our trip to England/Wales cost us last year, but at least they'll be resting in an environment that doesn't remind a particularly untamed jungle, complete with man-eating insects. And we can visit them whenever we will, without needing to plan a day-long trip. Mum will be able to go there without me, within half an hour, and that will comfort her greatly. She always had a guilty conscience because we went so rarely, the poor thing, but the cemetery is far away, and it's huge, and I wouldn't dare to go to the distant corner where my grandparents are buried alone. Plus the trip by tram leads across an area of teh city that I wouldn't visit voluntarily.

I also managed to break one of my molars, so tomorrow there'll be a trip to the dentist. Who, what else, also lives and works across the city, just in a different direction. Also, this is a private praxis, so the whole thing is gonna be costly; meaning that we can kiss good-bye every cent we have saved last month. But she's incredibly nice and very good, and I hope she'll be able to save the tooth. I prefer to keep my own chewing tools, thank you very much, and I already have a bridge on the other side.

Getting down to the less spectacular topics, our household seems to want to drive us mad. The taps are dripping, unless we screw them closed with brutal force. My satellite receiver still doesn't work as it used to be since it had to be repaired. Neither my PC nor my laptop is willing to work the way I'd like them, and I simply don't dare to do anything about that, out of fear that I may make everything worse. I'm really not technically savvy, and I'm too stupid to understand written instructions, not to mention follow them properly.

Also, several colleagues are on sick leave again, which means the return of the lovely double shifts. 30 years ago, when I was a shiny new model, it didn't bother me so much. But I'm beginning to feel my age and can't deal with the increase of stress half as well as I used to. And no, being menopausal doesn't help, thank you very much. *sighs*

Because of all this, I find it increasingly hard to concentrate on my writing - the only thing that keeps me relatively sane. I'm not sure how long I'll manage the weekly updates to "Elvenhome"; also, the TNG zombie story I'm writing for [livejournal.com profile] artemis10002000 as a belated Easter gift makes slower headway than I had hoped for. "Arthur's Quest" is completely on hiatus, and I'll have to re-read the existing 13 chapters to find my way back into it, and "Smiths & Joneses", my recent Torchwood project is dragging along rather sluggishly.

I'm just so horribly tired all the time. I'm down to 5 or 6 hours sleep each night, but even so, there's always something I can't finish when I planned, and that's frustrating.

Tomorrow I'll also have one of those open lessons when parents are allowed to visit the lessons and see what we're doing with their kids. Wish me luck.

*lach* Ja, dann wird's sich mit Sicherheit ändern, aber solange Du beim Schreiben Spaß hattest, was soll's Dich scheren, was andere denken.
