No, I'm not talking about [livejournal.com profile] lethe_lloyd's epic. This is the working title of a future story that won't leave me alone. As if I wouldn't have enough unfinished WIPs as it is. *sighs*

In any case, this is a First Age story, which takes place, partially at least, in my Moriquendi city from "The Vault of the Dead". My plot ideas are vague to nonexistent - all I know is who the main charactes are (mostly canonical ones, but with mighty twists), what the basic situation is (also canonical, also with a mighty twist) and what the outcome will be (which is completely canonical, without much of a twist, if any).

My main problem is how to reconcile canon events and canon timeline with my story idea - there seem to be some chronological impossibilities which I'd like to circumvent without declaring the whole thing completely AU. Well, it is one, considering the main character and its background and a lot of other things, but not the kind of AU that would go against canon in its entirety.

I'd be very happy if I could discuss the individual problems with people who are also interested in First Age Elves. I won't set a filter on this topic, because I'd like to allow even casual visitors to share their opinions. However, the comments will be screened, because I don't want to give away anything in advance.

First question(s) will be in future posts. This is simply an announcement.

I don't know much about Tolkien canon, but I've been learning a lot about fitting extra bits into known history, so I'll be interested in your process.

And I'd be interested in your insights. As you can see, the first entry is a bit vague - I didn't want to give away much to those who are well-versed in Tolkien canon. But the comments will be screened, so you can ask and I can answer, without spoiling the others. ;)
