I wish I could figure out how to keep people I personally like but whose entries sometimes make me uncomfortable (for reasons not their fault but for my ridiculous personal sensitivities) not to appear on my Friends page, without unfriending them. I don't want to do that. They are nice people, and I would like to keep them as friends. But avoiding my own Friends page and checking whether other people/comms etc. have updated via my Profile is really a bother... *sighs*

Could you create a custom friends group, and read that?

Well, I tried it. Group created. Friends page still looks the same. What did I forget?

Cancel the stupid question, I think I've just figured it out. :)

Gah, it doesn't seem to last! Or do I have to check the box every time before I would read my Friends page?

I would say 'yes'. Another option is to add '/#name-of-group#' at the end of the webaddress when you go to your friends page, i.e. in the browser address bar type 'http://wiseheart.livejournal.com/friends/#name-of-group#'. That is how I always access my friends page, because some of the communities I am a member of has too high a post volume for me to spot posts from my friends in among them. Hope that was of some help!

Or do what I do and use one of the links in your link list to link to the custom friends profile.
