I guess making present-day all-human sci-fi is cheaper Sadly this is probably the case, although you'd have thought that it wouldn't be so much of a problem with the fact that it can all be done on computer.
I didn't know that Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures have gotten cancelled. I'm so out of the loop, it's not even funny anymore! Well, Torchwood as farmed out to one of the US people, but they have implied that they aren't going to be making more after this series; Sarah Jane Adventures I can't recall if there was a formal announcement but Elizabeth Sladen died.
