Sometimes being obvious isn't such a bad thing, though. One of my deepest regrets is that the Professor never found the time to write the entire Tuor cycle, with Gondolin and stuff. What little is there in the Unfinished Tales is simply amazing - and then it just stops, and I could cry in frustration.
