Dratted muses!

Life is so frigging unfair! Now that I have 3 days free in a row (March 15 is a national holiday over here), I hoped to update a couple of long-overdue stories. I've produced a dozen or so pages for three different ones today - every single one is crap. I'll have to rewrite them all, and when I get the inspiration to do so is everyone's guess.

I hate it when the muses do this to me! I have little enough time to write as it is, and now it doesn't even work! Not that anyone but me would cry over the missed updates, but when I can't even write for the desk drawer any longer, then I'm seriously doomed. This is my only escape from the unpleasantness that's the rest of my life. Arrrgh!

I really mourn for the times when I used to be upset about negative reviews. Or about no reviews at all. At the very least, I could still write back then!

*huggles* Muses can be so evil. Hope your muses will return soon. I know the feeling how sucky it is when you want to escape into fandom when you're feeling crappy and then even that doesn't work. Maybe you're just too stressed to write? Doing something fun with your mum and relaxing might make you feel better and make your muses return, too.

Yeah, stress has definitely something to do with it. But I've overcome my "innerend Schweinehund" and rewrote the last nine or so pages of the upcoming chapter of "Atlantis Café". I'm just about to type it up right now and hope to post it to FF.Net and otherworlds_lib in the afternoon.

The problem was, I had so little time to spare in the last two weeks that I wrote at a speed of perhaps two paragraphs a time, so the chapter turned out uneven, repetitive and generally crappy. I hope I've managed to do some damage control this morning.

Edit: New chapter is up. I think you'll like it, despite its occasional unevenness. Looking forward to hear your opinion.

Yeah, that's hell to your writing when you have to write in little hacked-off bits and pieces. But I admire you for forcing yourself to edit after that disappointing writing weekend.

I must admit, it wasn't an easy thing. I nearly cried when I decided to redo all nine pages of it. Fortunately, I could re-use a few parts, after shifting them back and forth within the chapter... well, I hope it won't be too confusing. *sighs*

Nope, I didn't find it confusing at all. To be honest, I wouldn't have known that this chapter gave you a hard time from reading it.
