A Moment of Narcistic Self-Admiration
Jan. 27th, 2010 12:44 amWe went to the annual German theatre festival with the kids today. Both pieces I've written and co-worked on the direction won in their category (11-12 and 13-14 years old, respectively). One was a weird little thing called "The Cat's to Blame for Everything", the second one an incredibly silly Snow White parody, in which she terrorizes the Dwarves until they run away. Jury and audience laughed themselves silly. The kids spoke German very well, so I'm really proud.
Of course, that mean we got into the next level and have to sacrifice our Saturday on Feburary 6, but I'm still very happy.

Date: 2010-01-30 10:09 am (UTC)I'm very proud of both pieces, especially of the Snow White parody. It doesn't really matter if we don't win, there aren't any more levels. But I so wished to get to this one, because there's not other forum where the full German version could be presented and - hopefully - appreciated.
We'll present the play on the annual cultural event of our school, too, but since most from the audience wouldn't understand it otherwise, the narrator texts will have to be done in Hungarian, which, frankly, kills ninety per cent of the language-related jokes, so it's not exactly the same.
