In other words - an update of my wishlists. Which keep growing longer and longer, no matter how much more stuff I have gathered/been gifted upon.

Wishlist the First - Books

Let's start with some classics, shan't we?

Original Star Trek novels in paperback:

1. The Entropy Effect by Vonda McIntyre
2. The Klingon Gambit by Robert E. Vardeman
3. The Covenant of the Crown by Howard Weinstain
4. Mutiny on the Enterprise by Robert E Vardeman
5. The Final Reflection by John M. Ford
6. My Enemy My ally by Diane Duane
7. The Tears of the Singers by Melinda Snodgrass
8. The Vulcan Academy Murders by Jean Lorrah
9. Uhura's Song by Janet Kagan
10. Spock's World by Diane Duane
11. The Romulan Way by Diane Duane
12. Chain of Attack by Gene DeWeese
13. Memory Prime by Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens
14. Prime Directive by Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens

I skipped the Star Trek background reference books, since they're decades old by now, but if anybody is interested how deep my geeky nature reaches, you can have a good laugh at this post.

Unfortunately, as [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris got me hooked on Merlin, now I've developed an unhealthy interest for Merlin novels, too. Especially for the episode novelizations and the background stuff. Yeah, I know I'm hopeless. But most of the fanfiction I've read so far - and let me tell you, I've read a lot - is poorly written and disappointing. I'll add the few exceptions to my fic rec site, as soon as I find the time.

Will need to retrieve a saved email from my laptop, in which I have a few much items in the book greed department.

Wishlist the second - Visual media... which means DVDs, in these days

First and foremost, I'm still looking for the following 5th season Babylon 5 episodes:
"The Corps is Mother the Corps is Father"
"Meditations on the Abyss"
"Darkness Ascending"
"And All My Dreams Torn Asunder".
These are the only ones from the entire series I still don't have... but would like to have, very much.

From the Christopher Eccleston era of Dr. Who, I'm looking for "The Aliens of London" (cos it has Tosh in it), "World War Three" (since it's the second part of it) and "Dalek" (because, well, it has Daleks, okay?).

From the Tennant era of Dr. Who I'm looking for "The Christmas Invasion" (because it has PM Harriet Jones, whom I love), "New Earth" (cos it has the Face of Boe), "Tooth and Claw" (cos it has the beginning of Torchwood), the double episode "Rise of the Cybermen" and "The Age of Steel" (cos of the Cybermen, obviously), as well as the double episodes "Army of Ghosts" and "Doomsday" (cos of the Torchwood relevance).

2nd series Merlin, Part 2 goes without a question, I suppose. *g*

So does Season 5 of Stargate: Atlantis, since it repeatedly features Carson Beckett.

Where old sci-fi classics are considered, I'm looking for "Forbidden Planet" and the original version of "The Day the Earth Stood Still". I've recently bought the new version with Keanu Reeves, and it's interesting, but now I'd be even more interested in the original one.

From somewhat older fantasy movies, I'd love to have "A Knight's Tale" (hey, Rufus Sewell as evil knight, anyone?), and I might buy the "Excalibur" movie when I come across it, although I certainly won't go great lengths to find it.

And that's it for today. I'm fairly certain that more will follow as the greed grows. ;)

Amazing how just watching/reading one little tale can lead to so much fun (and enormous wish lists!), isn't it?
Cheers :)

Merlin season 2, part 2 comes out in a couple of weeks :)

My excellent local bookshop stocks some of the episode novelizations, although I've no idea how good they are. When you say 'background stuff', do you mean specifically about the series or the Arthurian myths in general?

Considering how little the series has to do with the actual Arthurian myths, I guess I'd be better off with series background stuff, would I not?

I own the novel "The Once and Future King", although I haven't re-read it in original yet. But as much as I remember from the Hungarian translation I've read some twenty-plus years ago, it's a rather... interesting approach as well.

BTW, is it just me or has Colin Morgan got even skinnier between the two seasons? He used to be a twig in Season 1, but it seems to me that now the wind could blow between his ribs...
