I succumbed to the inevitable yesterday and went to see my doctor. So now I'm on sick leave until Wednesday, when I'll have to go back and see if I can go to work again.

Despite being sick like a dog, I enjoy this unexpected break greatly. I hope I'll be able to catch up a little with my reading and writing, and generally rest some more than usual.

My little Silvan girl is coming tomorrow - she and Mum share the same birthday (she just turned 18, which is a big marker), and we'll have a dinner and hopefully much fun. I'm not worried to infect her, or, in fact, anyone - I never do. I just have to go through this crap once a year; it seems there are no exceptions anymore.

Perhaps I'm getting old, after all? ;)

Yeah, I know what you mean about sick but relaxing. Even when all I did was sleep, it was kind of nice compared to the regular pressures.

I think it's really cool how you can hang out with your students.

Well, she's an exceptional one - I almost consider her as my own.

Another former student of mine - a young man - has just returned to our school for a few weeks to finish his teacher's training. I liked him a great deal, too. It's interesting what circles life makes around you, eh?

I love it when teachers inspire others to become teachers. :) Quite a few of my friends have become teachers too. I'm glad you've had a chance to see how he is now.

Yep, I'm fairly proud of him. He already was a pleasant child and has become a pleasant adult. Which proves that our basic personality traits develop in childhood, mostly.

Have a great few days off!

Just think of it as a mini (sick!) vacation. ^_^

Oh, I do, thanks! Alone the fact that I got out of bed at 11.30 today made me deliriously happy. Of course, I was watching TV from bed, no longer sleeping, but still...

Aye, aye, Ma'am! I'm very good at letting myself spoiled, actually - and knowing that you folks are just a mouseclick away makes everything even more delightful. :)

Is this the same coughing virus you had a while back? :(
HUGS and hope you rest and enjoy your sick-leave.

I think what you need is rest. Rest does so much for we humans. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Yay! You're back! I was beginning to worry!
Tell me, did you ever get that book I sent you for Christmas? I've mailed it a little late, but I'd like to know whether it got there at all.

Aside from that, how are you doing?

Sorry to hear you're sick. I hope you get better soon but at least you're enjoying yourself. My company is cutting back on our hours because of the bad economy so I've gone from forty hours a week to thirty-two. It's not a good thing but I do find myself enjoying my day off in the middle of the week. I just hope that work picks up soon.

Yeah, it's with work like with men: you can't live with them but you can't live without them, either. ;)

You're not old! :)

I hope you feel better soon, but it's good that you're enjoying your sick leave. It's a relief when the doctor signs you off and you know you have that time to rest, isn't it? I've been back to work this past week, and it made me realise how nice sick leave was :)

Well, a ge depends on the time of the day: I start at the age of 120 and end up at the age of 16, usually. Unless work is too stressful. In which case, yeah, sick leave can be nice. Especially when you're not *that* sick that you couldn't enjoy it.

Are you doing well?

I've finally read the book you sent me for Xmas - it's a very interesting one. While it lacks the unparalleled charme of the Cadfael Chronicles, it has an intriguing plot and great female characters. I liked it a lot.

Enjoy your sick leave, and take care - maybe Wednesday is a bit too early to go back to work again at your age? ;)

Definitely too early, lol!
But I have certain obligations on Thursday and Friday, which I ought to fulfil if I seem to feel up to it. Otherwise, it would be unfair towards my colleagues.

I'm so sorry you're sick! However, I also salute your plans to enjoy the time off: reading and writing, along with rest, are good medicine. Do enjoy your Silvan girl's visit!
