Perfect timing - not!

Am sick like a dog again. Have been for four days already... barking like an asthmatic dog, no sleep all night because of said barking, being dim-witted from the lack of sleep all day.

Why couldn't it happen during school time? I so hoped that I would come to a little rest during these holidays, but with no sleep, it's kinda hard to achieve.

Well, at least is spared me the trip to the cemetery so far. Even Mum agrees that leaving the flat isn't an issue right now. I still hate it, though.

Somehow it's hilarious to imagine that you're having a bad summer cold, while we're freezing our asses off over here. Yes, I know it's the opposite end of the planet, but still.

Yes, it is weird! We find it funny you guys have snow, we don't get that at all! This year, we're just happy there's no bushfires...sending healing vibes right back at you, here's to hoping we all get well soon!

Actually, we have *lots* of snow this year - more than in the last five years or so counted together. It's a beautiful sight, when all you have to do is to look at it from the window of a warm chamber, which I can do, as I'm on sick leave. But that also means that Mum has to go out to shop for groceries, and I really don't like the thought of her slipping...

We get the slippy icy pavements here in winter, or we did in Maffra where the pavements are concrete; here in Newry you just walk on the grass which isn't as slippery! Hope Mum managed the shopping ok.

The snow would be lovely looking out a window at everything white and pretty..

It is, indeed. I love snow - I just hate icy pavements. Fortunately, they strew it with sand or salt often enough, but even so...

Ah, that's what we need to do here, put sand or salt on the pavements in bad weather! Pleased to hear Mum made it ok, but I thought she would.

Shall go check it out, but I'm dying to know too, what those elves want with Faramir...not that he's not a nice guy or anything, but they don't want to see him just because he's a sweety! And of course, you're welcome for the review.

Well, I can't tell you ahead of time what they want, but he'll be in for the experience of his life - and it will be nothing too bad, I promise. I do have a soft spot for him. I've always had, long before the (otherwise despised) movies showed me what a great guy Boromir was.

And now that I've found my own visuals for him (Orlando in Kingdom of Heaven), I love him even more. Faramir, I mean. Now if I could only find my own Éowyn, that would be great.

It certainly was nothing bad, but I'd have never guessed. Now, you know, that's one thing the LoTR movies did for me: made me like Aragorn and Boromir. I used to hate both of them, now I quite like them!

It's interesting how differently people react to movie characters. The movie made me love Boromir, whom I didn't like before, and it made me hate Aragorn, whom I used to like very much. It also completely ruined Elrond and Galadriel for me.

I didn't mind Elrond or Galadriel. I really liked seeing Elrond in the Last Alliance actually and loved Rivendell and Lorien. Frodo pissed me off in the movies, he was a whinner like that in the books, plus he was too young.

I think Aragorn became human to me in the movies. In the books he somehow seemed like a mythical hero, not a person. Boromir, well, I've already said I used to hate him, and now I don't. I guess that's what's fun about movies, how we all react differently to them.

You see, that was my problem with Aragorn exactly. As long as he was a mythical hero, I could accept the necessity for Denethor & family to step down and vacate the throne for him. As soon as I saw this "Woe me, I'll have to become King" loser in the movies, I switched sides and declared the Steward's family the rightful leaders.

I don't. I guess that's what's fun about movies, how we all react differently to them

Exactly. And as long as we can agree to disagree, everything is all right.
