Interesting... but do we really need all that background info, complete with her family history? That's more than we know about the personal history of Sister Magdalen herself, or of Hugh Beringar, or - almost - of Cadfael himself! And what we do know about those characters, we learn in the course of several books, not in the space of ten or so paragraphs. Personally, I'd snip at least some of it, unless it's really vitally important.
