The TV show isn't that great, and, as you say, I don't think there's an obvious pairing to write about. I suspect the pairing people would write would be Cadfael and Beringer, and it seems three different actors play Beringar across the show's run, so there's no continuity either. (Not to mention that IMHO Derek Jacobi is woefully miscast.)
