So, can you tell me why am I keeping this frigging journal at all?

Ah, yes - to keep in touch with people.[/sarcasm]

Edit:
In case someone might look for the recent two entries - I've deleted them. This journal was in serious danger of becoming a memorial of my general bitterness and disappointment, and I don't want that to happen. That's why I eventually burned all my hand-written journals... I'd like to avoid walking into the same trap again.

I think it is keeping you in touch with people, because people read even if they don't comment - I know I often don't comment on posts because I can't think of anything useful to say (and it's the kind of post for which a two-word comment isn't appropriate).

Like [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris, I'm reading, even if I can't think of anything to say that would be helpful.

Often I just don't know how I could help and platitudes don't help much. But I would hate to see you leave *good long hug*

I'm sorry that I hadn't managed to comment yet on your post about friends. I'm sorry for whatever has happened there. I hope that it's not as bad as it seems.

One of the problems with this place is that it's easy to equate silence with absence. There are people I care about greatly who rarely comment, but I know that they're reading, and I keep on writing knowing that. I don't fool myself that the fact that *I'm* reading your journal will have any great meaning, but I know that others are reading, and that they care.

Tag another one for the read, empathised, but was too flaky to find something useful to say. (One problem with LJ is that it's a (semi-)public forum, which makes sharing similar experiences when our f'lists overlap so much rather dodgy.)

What some of the others wrote. I didn't know how to react without sounding lame and/or overbearing. But I did read your posts and hope to do so in the future, too!

I think it's obvious a lot more people are reading your posts than you realize.

I'm reading too. As a pathetically up-tight person I generally find commenting quite hard and often don't know what to say – but I do read.
