... because tomorrow I'll have to do the last leg of the cleaning-on-my-own and won't be able to do anything else afterwards than drop to the floor and try to breathe.

Anyway, I improvised a dish based on Mary Berry's Panang Fried Chicken, only with noodles instead of rice. I also left out the curry powder because we're sweating like a pair of pigs without artificial help - it's still 34 degrees, for God's sake.

So, here is the improvised midday meal (which, I want to let you know, was absolutely delicious):

Basically, it's fried chicken breast bits and veggies, namely tomatoes and grated zucchini, seasoned with onions, garlic, lime juice, fresh (well, frozen) ginger and sweet chili and soy sauce. The noodles were boiled separately in salt water and added to the mix. Yum.

But actually, the day started with our weekly trip to the café, where we had our usual breakfast of coffee and croissants. We call it our "trip to Vienna", as the small bakery/café reminds us of the Anker shops in Vienna, especially as they serve the coffee in original Julius Meinl cups. This is as close as we'll ever get to Vienna again, alas. :(

Afterwards I dipped down to Lidl to buy some stuff, most of which I got; the ginger ale on offer was sold out, which is sad but not unexpected. Not much else got done today, but these three events were more than enough in this heat. I need to save my strength (such as it is) for tomorrow.

Writing-wise I've started writing the chapter summaries to Torchwoodgate 1 - the story I pulled from both AO3 and FF.Net after it has been reported for a silly mistake. I want to post Part 2 eventually, but without Part 1 it wouldn't make much sense, so I'll bring the extremely shortened version of the first story back. I don't feel up to the challenge of rewriting 2 chapters of a 17-year-old story; and besides, the person who reported it might report me again out of sheer spite, so I'm not taking any risks.
