I mean the frigging heat, of course. Weather forecast vaguely promises "cool" temperatures for Wednesday and Thursday (apparently, 27-28°C counts as "cool" in these days), but after that we'll climb into the thirties again. God, I hate it so much!

At least the mornings are somewhat more bearable, so I'm trying to stuff as much into the earlier hours as I can. Of course, as soon as I'd planned out the morning, Mum suddenly decided that she needed to get her hair washed (in all honesty, she really needed it), and so my carefully laid plans went down the river. Again.

At least I managed to work a bit on the last pot holder before breakfast, but by this speed it will take a lot longer than I thought it would. Too bad, I'd really like to finish this project sooner rather than later.

After breakfast I did a bit of writing; fortunately, it went well enough, so I'm not complaining. Even though I only manage to do a small shard of what I used to do in this area before retiring. Ironic, isn't it? And I had such writing plans, too!

Then I had to cook; my friend Evie brought us an oversized zucchini two days ago, which needed to be processed. Having sought for the easiest possible recipe on YouTube, I've finally made this, with slight alterations as we can't eat raw onions, for example. It was yummy, but grating vegetables at 32°C is no fun at all!

The rest of the afternoon was spent in agonizing heat with Methuselah-the-laptop, then some telly (the later seasons of the Great Australian Bake-Off just aren't the same without Matt and Maggie), and then I typed up some of what I had written today before darkness fell. Unfortunately, we live fairly close to the Danube, even if it can't be seen from here, and due to the gnat invasion we either keep the flat dark and the windows open in the cooler evening hours or use light, but in that case the windows need to be closed, or else we'd be eaten alive.

Have I mentioned how much I hate this weather?
