St. Martin's Day

On which we did not have a goose. We had - sorry, noadvertising! - cauliflower casserole, baked in the oven, since I already had the oven hot and working. I gave this recipe a try, and produced these guys:



I intended to make them as part of my Christmas baking but wanted to check out the recipe first, just in case. Well, the things are yummy but need a bit more sugar - even Mum said so, who likes her cookies a lot less sweet than I. So, next time I'll add one tablespoon of sugar more, as well as chocolate icing, and I thing they'll be perfect that way.

I also made chessboard biscuits that ended up not looking like chessboards at all (I got the thickness of the individual pieces wrong) but they'll have to do. It's a lot of work, and I'm not ready to repeat the experience, so I'll simply pretend that I actually wanted them look the way they do. *g*

I also had to make lunch, as mentioned above, plus we had laundry day, so I'm pretty much done in for the day.
