Battling bureaucracy
Oct. 5th, 2022 06:37 pmIt's time for population census again, and this time our glorious government decided in their eternal wisdom that it ought to be done online. Only those without an internet connection - and believe me, there still are a great many such people in this country - will be graced by a person who'll visit them and ask the same idiotic questions.
Since I'm a person with internet connection, I braved the online forms today. It was hilarious; I often had to ask Mum about dates because frankly, I didn't have the faintest in which month had we moved from Romania to Hungary, or in which month had I moved back from Germany. Why do they need the months is beyond me, and I just hope Mum remembered correctly. In case you are wondering, partaking in the "fun" is not voluntary...
In any case, I filled out the forms for us both, handed them in online and got the reply that they have been accepted. Phew! I'm almost afraid to mess up such things beyond help, so I'm truly relieved.
I also talked to my neighbour, the IT guy, and the iPad mini is supposed to come home in the next couple of days. It might not last long, the poor thing, being 7 or 8 years old already, so I'll buy a new one anyway, while keeping the old one for looking at photos and suchlike. I can't wait!
I did a great deal of crafting today, since Mum volunteered to cook (chicken soup and chicken paprikash). The Christmas tree page has developed quite nicely, although there are a few embellishments to add later. And I also chose the next motif, so there will be continuity. Yay! Continuity is good!
What else? I talked to my friend Evie on the phone, had a nap in the afternoon (interrupted by phone calls from Mum's friends twice) and printed out a few notes I'll need for the next choir practice. Fortunately, one fellow choir member (young, dynamic and technically savvy) scanned in all the notes we've used during the last 16 years, so we can simply go to Google drive and print out whatever we might not have. That is progress!
All in all, it was a good day. Now to watch the Great Canadian Bake-off!
Edit:
Aaand DW is acting up again! It won't let me comment, it won't let me log out and log in again - whatever I try, I got ACCESS DENIED! *insert curse words*
Edit #2:
Apparently, it's on and off - I don't know what's wrong with the dratted site!
