Advent, Day 10
Dec. 10th, 2020 05:34 pmaka "the day on which we met people".
We had an appointment with our talkative chiropodist lady, so that took care for the entire morning. No, really.
Then the exterminator came - he comes four times a year and sprays certain parts of the flat, especially the bath, the toilet and the kitchen, for preventive purposes. It is a good solution, as it has kept us vermin-free for decades.
After that, our conductor Monica dropped by shortly - well, we met in front of the building, actually - to collect the boxed Christmas cookies for herself and our friend Sandy. She also brought me a gift: two pounds of walnut kernels. That was very thoughtful of her, considering how expensive nuts are this year. Now I'm good for the next two years where walnuts are concerned.
It was one of those suspicious outdoor meetings, with two masked persons exchanging goodies. *g*
Other than that, the only event worth mentioning was the fact that I managed to inhale a mouthful of mineral water and nearly choked on it. I'm still coughing up water drops... that, or my windpipe is simply a bit roughed up from all that abuse. I hope for the latter. Pneumonia would be the last thing I needed right now. *sigh*
My Good Thing of the Day:
Well, I haven't suffocated, after all, so it's a good thing, right?
Oh, and I've got a review from
jilba on AO3! I haven't heard from her literally in years, so I'm very happy to know that she's apparently doing well enough to read fanfic, at least.
