wiseheart: (Valinor by Ted Nasmith)
You are lucky. I'm too dead to treat you to the Great Cemetery Adventure I was unlucky enough to have with Mum today. What other time than the coldest day of the whole frigging year? Besides, in our family the dead are usually kept in much higher esteem than the living. Bleh.

I've finished "The Young Knights". With only six days delay, which isn't that bad, consdering the amount of work and research that story cost me. Gah. I think I'll do some vampire stuff next, with bondage, lots of blood and lots of hot smut. I need a timeout from the Ardaverse. Luckily for me, there's "Emissary of the Mark" to translate and to adapt, none of which is too demanding. And "The Joy Machine" in the Trek fandom. My creative juices have all but dried out. No Advent Calendar ever again!!!

Three more days at home. Two with Mum. But I gave her an ultimatum. I told her I won't leave the flat until I absolutely have on January 3, and I won't be laying hand on anything until then. We just avoided a really ugly fight because I sucked up the rest again. And because she wouldn't understand anyway if I didn't.

I found an English version of Eclipse of the Crescent Moon, though. It's a terrific book about a small slice of medieval Hungarian history. I'll post more about it when I'm not this brain dead, perhaps with quotes. You guys deserve to know that book.

Okay, gone till tomorrow. Not a single functioning brain cell left anyway...

In 2007, wiseheart resolves to...
Put fifty desert warriors a month into my savings account.
Learn to play the lindir.
Overcome my secret fear of elves.
Be nicer to crowdaughter.
Volunteer to spend time with prydain chronicles.
Take edge_of_ruin reading.

Fifty desert warriors a month! What do these people think I am, still sixteen? But I'd really like to learn to play the Lindir, considering how long overdue the updating of "Innocence" is... And I think I could be nicer to poor [livejournal.com profile] crowdaughter, who is, after all, my evil genius who served faithfully my cunning plane of world-subjugation... And I really, really need to read more of [livejournal.com profile] edge_of_ruin's excellent stuff. Not to mention the Prydain Chroniclesthat have been waiting in the book-case so patiently all the time, while I've lent the German version to my students.

So, I think I could live with those resolutions, after all.

And while we are being silly anyway:
On the twelfth day of Christmas, wiseheart sent to me...
Twelve vampires drumming
Eleven dwarves piping
Ten crossovers a-leaping
Nine benedictines baking
Eight vulcans a-reading
Seven atlantis a-writing
Six elves a-cooking
Five bu-u-u-uck rogers
Four prydain chronicles
Three desert warriors
Two halabor chronicles
...and an uhura in a poltergeist the legacy.

Now, this is really unsettling. Have I been just motivated to write ten crossovers, seven of them Atlantis-related and one including Uhura and Poltergeist - The Legacy? And two more pieces of the Halabor Chronicles? Okay, I understand the vampires, I've made some promises to them, after all, but the recurring abundance of desert warriors is alarming.

These things are fun!

... to the Virtual Silvester Party of Doom (TM), which will take place here, on my LJ, on the last evening of 2006.

Everyone is welcome, anonymous or logged in - the more, the merrier. Lots of virtual booze will be available from Dr. Zelenka's secret still on Atlantis. There are only two things you need to deliver: a fun topic of your own (from the silliest joke of the Universe to something hilarious you've seen, read or heard, everything goes) and one comment to any of the other topics. More is allowed, even encouraged, of course.

I'll post the opening entry around 20.00, Hungarian time. The party will be open for exactly 24 hours (if my PC cooperates, for which we all should cross our fingers).

I hope we'll have fun. *g*
