Well, well, it's 0:14, which means I've passed the border between 48 and 49. I think it's the most un-remarkable birthday I've ever had. No guests, no party, no cake, no nothing - and not even missing it. I guess after a certain age birthdays just lose their importance... until one gets old enough to consider one's own age an achievement. Like my Granny did after turning 80. Or 90. Or 95.

On the bright side, I got sweets from Jillian - the first time ever that I got mail from Australia! - two nice pullovers from my Mom (plus she treated me with a visit by the hairdresser's, so that I've become a redhead once again) and I actually found a pair of shoes that aren't the usual comfort monstrosities but look like really nice, lady-like shoes. I haven't had anything like that for at least ten years.

To my surprise, my PC treated me with the revival of its fan (at least temporarily), although it still keeps freezing at the most inappropriate moments, so I still need some smartass to fx it. Plus, I've more or less finished rewriting A Heart For Falsehood Framed (aka Book 5 of my canon Boromir-series), which now seems even worse than before, and I started some tentative work on Seal On My Heart (the Boromir AU) again. It's just patchwork and ironing out some mistakes, so I can do it despite a dead muse. But at least I get reacquintanted with the Tolkien universe again.

Happy Birthday! I'm glad to hear your PC and your muse have given you such nice presents. (Not to mention the nice Aussie goodies!)

Thanks. I'm not so sure about the muse, though. I think I'm forcing her, which can be seen on the results, but it's still better than nothing.

You're welcome, Soledad! If I'd known it was your birthday so close, I'd have included a funny Aussie birthday card! Anyway, Happy Happy Birthday!

Oh, I loved the ficlet! And thanks for linking it to SOMH... maybe some people would find to it through your link. My bruised ego could use a few strokes. *g*

Happy birthday, sis! I'm sorry I neglected to do anything for you this year. (Boo to Case)

Though I'm glad to know that you got the little somethings that are better.

*hugs*

True, at our age (hear the old hag speak), birthdays aren't all that important anymore - though the next one probably will be, like it or not... Happy birthday anyway! My wishes include the fixing of your PC fan some time soon.

Yeah, the wife of my cousin will hit the big 50 in 20 days. We are of the same age for exactly 21 days each year, which is fun. *g*

Thanks, honey. I sure hope the frigging muse will stop hibernating, soon, because the mere thought of my WIPs could make a person severely depressed.

Happy birthday! Sorry it's a bit late in the day - for some reason, I had it in my head that your birthday was the 11th, not the 10th :(

Taran Wanderer has just come out, so I'll send a copy your way soon.

*Hugs*

Awww, thanks! I'm so glad to read all those wonderful books in original! I'm so spoiled since Ithilwen gifted upon me the Earthsea books and you The Prydain Chronicles. Next to Tolkien, these are the absolute best ones I know in the genre.

BTW, the day is October 9, not 10. It's just so that existing in different time zones sometimes screws up the dates.

Look! Another chance to wish you a wonderful year to come!

(Yes, even at the office after 9 at night, I can still find you...sort of...electronically speaking).

Cheers!
