Die Qual der Wahl

Sorry, I don't know a matchingly proper English expression for the subject line. Sometimes I just have to turn to my trusted German for the right phrase. *g*
In any case, I've done my big shopping tour for baking supplies today. The offer was simply overwhelming. This year Alid has outdone itself. The most important task was to clear (with myself) which of the available items had the actual choice of me using them for this year's Christmas baking frenzy. So yeah, it wasn't easy. But I think I've managed to withstand the items I most certainly won't be using, so my conscience is clean. More or less. ;))
I still have to watch the Aldi offers like a hawk, since pistachios and the other Christmassy nuts haven't shown up yet, and I'll definitely need those. There can't be any Christmas baking without pistachios and macadamia nuts.
In any case, it was an exhausting process, and I also had to go to Lidl afterwards, and Lidl is always horribly crowded on Sundays. But the Aldi baking supplies were announced for Sunday, and I didn't dare to wait another day or two, or else the exact things I wanted would have been sold out (voice of experience speaking here).
So after I came home and we had brunch and watched The Repair Shop, I felt the need for a short nap. Which lasted two hours! I had to be more exhausted than I had thought. In any case, that about took care for lunch: we had instant Fritatensuppe with leftover Rösti and Babka from yesterday, and that was basically it.
Afterwards, I've finished the very pretty angel card and put it under the cutting board to dry - and found it glued to the desktop rather firmly. So I'll have to redo it tomorrow, which is a shame as I don't have any of that really nice, pale green background cardboard left. I'll have to be creative. *sigh*
I also formed the body for the next angel doll and pre-prickled the next card, which will be a rather complicated Christmas tree with ungodly amounts of swirls that while decorative are really hard to get right. But it's pretty and we wantssss it, yesssss, Precioussss. I foresee lots of craft-related cursing in the near future. *g*
Writing-wise I was successful, too. I've almost finished Chapter 3 - perhaps one paragraphs and/or a few lines of dialogue are left. I hope to finish this particular story in just 4 chapters instead of creating another never-ending WIP. *fingers crossed* At the same time, I'm trying to type up what I've already written. Chapter 1 is nearly done, I hope to finish it tonight and post it to
otherworlds_lib for test reading.
Speaking of writing:
picowrimo will start in 5 days, assuming there will be any takers. I'll have to make an entry to the comm.
